TQCC Summer Solstice Sportive in memory of Philip Corr – Le Grand Depart

The sun is shining again this evening. Yesterday evening we at TQCC ran our annual TQCC Summer Solstice Sportive, now renamed in memory of our former chairman and founding member Phiip Corr. There is no doubt that he would have enjoyed the event, and been at the heart and soul of it all. And we were so happy that Philip's family attend and were part of the event.

We would like to thank all those that made the sportive possible, from those who took on the back of house duties, to the marshals, to those assisting in broom wagons and on motorbikes, to those at registration, to Belfast Harlequins RFC, and to the players showcasing Boccia in the carpark.

Most importantly of all, to all 169 cyclists, who cycling out together in the first dry evening in some time, flew round the hilly 37 mile course, and enjoyed the craic and camaraderie afterwards.

Thank you all, for making this a great event, and for supporting the club’s charity Disability Sport NI Boccia.

We look forward to seeing you all next year. And as a treat here’s a video of Le Grand Depart (thanks to Laurence Kelly). Can you spot yourself cycling by?
